WEDDING DJ THE ELGIN, MAIDA VALE
Non-Stop Party Vibes: Ciara & Ed’s Wedding at The Elgin, Maida Vale
We had an absolute blast DJing for Ciara and Ed’s wedding at The Elgin in Maida Vale. The Elgin is a classic London pub with a stylish, rustic vibe and a fantastic atmosphere for a proper knees-up. With DJ Phil on the decks, this was always going to be a night to remember!
As the guests filtered into the pub, the energy was already high, and it only got better from there. The couple set the tone with their first dance to "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green—a timeless classic that perfectly captured the love in the room. From there, it was all about building the party vibe, and Phil absolutely delivered.
A Diverse and Dynamic Setlist
Ciara and Ed’s guests were up for a good time from the get-go, so we wasted no time throwing out some absolute classics to get the dancefloor moving. We kicked off with a mix of soul and funk, including "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder and "Ain't Nobody" by Chaka Khan—both of which went down a storm.
After warming everyone up with some groovy old-school vibes, Phil started to blend in some more contemporary bangers to keep things fresh. "Hey Ya!" by OutKast and "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas brought the energy up another notch, and by that point, the dancefloor was heaving.
But it wasn't just the big hitters that made the night memorable—Phil had some unexpected curveballs that worked perfectly, like:
"Locked Out of Heaven" by Bruno Mars - A modern pop hit that blended effortlessly with classic funk.
"Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus - Pop-punk nostalgia that had everyone singing along.
"Fire and Water" by Free - A throwback rock anthem that brought a surprise reaction.
"Nasty Girl" by Notorious B.I.G. - Unexpected 90s hip-hop that got the crowd moving.
Big Tunes That Hit the Mark
The night was full of big moments that had everyone going wild:
"Dancing On The Ceiling" by Lionel Richie - The ultimate feel-good singalong.
"American Boy" by Estelle ft. Kanye West - A nod to the bride's American roots.
"Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond - Because no wedding is complete without it!
"Mr. Brightside" by The Killers - An absolute staple and one that never fails to bring the house down.
Final Songs to Remember
As the night drew to a close, it was clear that no one wanted to leave the dancefloor. DJ Phil wrapped things up in style with a power ballad classic, "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. It was the perfect hands-in-the-air finale to an epic night of celebration.
A Night to Remember at The Elgin
This was one of those weddings where the party energy just kept building. Ciara and Ed wanted a proper celebration, and that’s exactly what they got. From classic soul to indie anthems and dancefloor bangers, it was a night that left everyone buzzing.
