WEDDING DJ nomad hotel, covent garden
We had an amazing night as the wedding DJ at Nomad Hotel, Covent Garden, for Michael & Jackie in July 2024. The venue itself is absolutely spectacular, built in a former Courthouse and complete with a swanky restaurant, a super-cool speakeasy style bar & a library-styled lounge. Anyone looking for a sophisticated and intimate London wedding setting should look no further - this really is one of London’s best kept wedding venue secrets.
With the groom hailing from the north west of the UK and the bride from New York, this was a wedding playlist that covered a lot of ground. Michael & Jackie asked us to start off with an upbeat mix of Northern Soul and Motown classics with selections ranging from massive hits from the likes of The Isley Brothers through to more niche tunes like Frank Wilson’s “Do I love you (Indeed I Do)”. We then moved through some cross-generational disco hits and into a few big 80s electro-pop tracks before getting into some indie and R&B favourites from the 90s and 00s. The final 30 minutes called for a change in pace and a move onto the groom’s request for some tunes from his clubbing days in the north west, including eternal 90s bangers from Robin S and Gala as well as some huge Trance and Happy Hardcore favourites from Delirium and Ultrabeat. We closed out the night with the always-epic, arm-in-arm singalong of Oasis’ “Don't look back in anger” and left the crowd to wander back through to the speakeasy bar for some end of the night Negronis and Espresso Martini’s.
Such a fun night and a venue we cannot wait to return to soon!
