TOWN HALL HOTEL WEDDING DJ - BETHNAL GREEN - LONDON

WEDDING DJ TOWN HALL hotel, BETHNAL GREEN

We had an amazing night as the wedding DJ at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, for Joss and Rachael’s wedding in August this year.

The hotel itself is a beautifully restored, Edwardian building originally constructed in 1910 as a town hall and backs onto the world famous boxing venue, York Hall. As a wedding venue it combines historical charm with modern luxury and features architectural and period details, including ornate ceilings and grand staircases.

Joss and Rachael both hail from north of the border but have lived in London for a long time and had a guestlist that comprised of people from all four corners of the UK, as well as Ireland so this wedding had a somewhat Gaelic vibe throughout. The night was opened and closed with tracks from Shane MacGowan, the bride and groom choosing “Haunted” by MacGowan & The Popes as their first dance track and “The Body of an American” by The Pogues to finish the night.

Earlier on in the night we kicked things off with some big 70s and 80s classics from Bowie through to ABBA and Earth, Wind and Fire before moving through some classic Motown and Northern Soul. As well as dancing to these more classic, cross-generational tunes, we also moved through more up to date tracks from Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles before digging into some big indie tunes from the 90s and 00s.

One band that featured prominently throughout the evening were The Proclaimers and with the Bride’s family hailing from the twins’ hometown of Leith, it was fitting that the moment of the night was an emotional arm-in-arm singalong to the bands’ 1988 classic “Sunshine on Leith” as the clock approached midnight.

All in all this was one of our favourite weddings of the year at a venue that we cannot wait to return to. Congratulations to Joss and Rachael, I hope our paths cross again in the future!

Stunning pictures of the wedding were captured by one of our favourite photographers and someone we work alongside very frequently; the unparalleled, Matt Parry.
